memorial garden design and installation

Is gardening something that has been important to you, that you enjoy? Do you like the idea of a natural outdoor space where loved ones can reconnect with their memories of you?

I work with you to identify a good place for your memorial garden, and to get a sense of what you like—and you do not need to have much or any experience gardening! If you have preferences or certain plants that are meaningful for you, we talk that through; if you have not gardened much, I will talk you through the choices you have until you find something that feels right for you.

Design: I work with two landscape designers who transform your choices and preferences into a fully-realized garden plan that reflects your wishes.

Want to attract butterflies, bees, or songbirds? We can do that. Want to make sure the garden has plants in bloom all season? We can do that. Do you want to make sure your garden needs minimal maintenance? We can do that. Do you want a ‘wild’ garden or a path through the woods filled with native plants? We can do that, too.

Install: we can arrange the installation of your garden, or you can use the design plan and have loved ones, friends, and your community do the planting.

Memorial gardens are very individual places—all shapes and sizes, all kinds of locations. For this reason, pricing for this service is structured a little differently:

design: $300 (three hours of consultation)

installation: $150 per hour* (two professional gardeners prepare the bed and plant the plants)

*final cost will also include the purchase of plants, mulch, and soil enhancements (to make sure your plants get off to a good start).
